Mission:
Enterprise Estonia’s mission is to increase public welfare by strengthening competitiveness of Estonian enterprises and promoting Estonia’s business climate.
Enterprise Estonia was founded on 1st of January 2001 by combining five different public service agencies into a single organisation.
From March 2004 it is also responsible for implementing the enterprise support part of the EU Structural Funds in Estonia.
Budget:
€300 m in 2009, of which €86 m innovation related.
Activities:
Enterprise Estonia performs its mission by assisting companies with consultation and funding in the following areas:
- Exports
- Foreign Direct investments
- R&D
- Innovation
- Specific support for start-up companies
- Training and consultancy
Enterprise Estonia is also responsible for the national coordination of the EUREKA programme and 6th Framework Programme's Innovation and SME NCPs.
Additionally Enterprise Estonia has the responsibility for developing regional development programmes and specific activities related to promoting tourism industry.
