Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT)
KIAT was founded with the aim of strengthening the innovative capacity of the technology industry and increasing public awareness of technology.
As an affiliated organization under the Korean government's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), KIAT was launched to promote Korea's Industrial development and technology innovation by playing a crucial role in recommending and implementing Korea's international R&D strategy for industrial technology.
KIAT utilizes over 300 employees, its 2 overseas offices, an annual budget of $1.2 billion, 110 cooperative agreements with overseas agencies (2001-2012),
KIAT's International Technology Cooperation Division was elected by the MOTIE to facilitate Korean industrial technology R&D collaboration within FP7, as well as managing Korea's associate membership of the EUREKA Network and Korean membership of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).
