Expert Session III

Future innovation networks: development and growth in business economy

12:00 - 17:45 hrs

Venue: Martynas Mazvydas National Library of Lithuania, room 535

Address: Gemimino ave. 51, Vilnius

Date: 26th September 2018

Innovation and excellence are rarely achieved in isolation, as competences are spread across different sectors, value chains and geographical borders. These characteristics call for collaboration between, and integration of, different innovation actors across different sectors and regions. This includes SMEs and large enterprises as well as supportive organisations such as universities, research and development institutions, other knowledge and skills providers, financial actors, etc.  While large enterprises mostly have the resources to organise and manage open innovation processes, SMEs often need help to effectively link with, and integrate into, new industrial value chains.

Key questions for the Expert Session:

- How to use innovation networks to respond to the new industrial challenges through facilitating cross-sectoral value chain?

- How to use innovation networks to foster internationalisation, accelerate entrepreneurship and help more start-ups grow, boost interregional investments and foster SME internationalisation?
